Application
IONOL®46 is an antioxidant belonging to the group of non-colouring, sterically hindered phenols.
IONOL®46 is used primarily for natural and synthetic rubbers (SBR, BR, IR, NBR) and latices. Due to its effectiveness, IONOL®46 is also used as a stabilizing agent in polyacetates, ABS and mineral oil products
that are exposed to high temperatures. IONOL®46 is FDA and BfR approved.

Application Examples:
In latices that are not cross-linkable through sulfur, the effectiveness of IONOL®46 may be enhanced by preparing synergetic mixtures with secondary antioxidants. The recommended optimum dosage range is 0.2 - 0.75 phr. IONOL®46 is a very good antioxidant that provides long-term stabilization of SBR-, BR-, IR-

and NBR-based elastomers. Optimum dosages may vary between 0.2 and 1.2 phr, depending on the area of use. In the field of rubber processing, IONOL®46 has successfully and consistently been used as a long-term antioxidant for natural- and light-coloured vulcanizates. The product also protects materials from the potential effects of over-vulcanization and from crazing effects caused by light. When applied in the
recommended dosage range of 0.5 - 2.0 phr, IONOL®46 will not tend to bloom, and it will not cause discolouring and/or corona effects upon touching paint-finished metals.
